A PINK CANDY CHRISTMAS
Welcome to my pink winter wonderland!
This Christmas I felt like a little change was in order. Don’t get me wrong, I love a traditional Christmas, however it doesn’t exactly suit my style, (as silly as that sounds), and I wanted to make this Christmas feel more me. I decided to take a bit of a U-turn away from the traditional green, red and gold that we all know so well while still trying to keep that cosy vintage feel; the feeling one would associate with being curled up on the sofa while drinking Baileys hot chocolate and eating mince pies, (yes, that is my ideal Christmas situation).
After all, I did say I was going to branch out into interiors and where else better to start than Christmas!
Personally, I think a pink tree can sometimes feel a bit too modern. Why not try I using lace trim instead of tinsel to give your tree that vintage feel! I found this lace lying around the house, however you can pick some up at most markets or Etsy has lots of different lace trims available!
PALE BLUE STAR TREE DECORATION/ PURPLE BAG TREE DECORATION
When I saw this white glittery berry garland in the Next Home section I just had to get it! Its absolutely perfect to place ontop of the mantle piece and looks absolutely gorgeous with or without the faux roses that I added, (I just like to be over the top haha!)
I would imagine this garland would look stunning pretty much anywhere; on a shelf, around your TV, on the window sill, around a mirror, on the living room door, basically anywhere! Plus the fact that its white means that it will go with any colour and the ambient light it gives off is so pretty, its a really wonderful piece!
These candles are ordinarily apart of my youtube backdrop, however I thought they would look perfect in this Christmas wonderland! They’re from Tiger which is one of my favourite stores, they have so many random things which you never knew you needed, kinda like IKEA, just a bit more strange!
Unfortunately the candles don’t actually run when they burn and I had to spend a good few hours melting them myself, but perhaps thats a tutorial for another day!
My grandma found these vintage glass bottles on one of her many dog walks, how beautiful are they? She always finds such amazingly random items on her adventures. There are lots of similar bottles available on Etsy but you can also find modern replicas at lots of homeware stores, I’ve seen similar glass bottles at stores like Wilko, Tesco Direct and Not On The Highstreet! Alternatively you could recycle your old wine bottles, and if you don’t have any, maybe you could pinch some from the recycling boxes on your street, (well ok, maybe you should ask first!).
This year I bought the majority of my tree decorations from Primark, Home Bargains and The Range! The Range especially have an absolutely stunning assortment of decorations at decent prices in lots of different colours! Unfortunately a lot of the decorations I purchased are out of stock online, but perhaps they might be available at your local store! Luckily, my favourite decoration is still available! This beautiful pink rocking horse ornament was on offer so naturally, I purchased five of them!
DISNEY MICKEY MOUSE DECORATIONS
I can’t believe Primark has Disney decorations! These little baubles with Mickey Mouse and Mini Mouse ears so cute that I just had to get them! They sold out really fast but still seem to be available online, (can you actually buy things online at Primark? The question of life.)
LIGHT UP CHRISTMAS BAUBLES / PINK FAUX FUR THROW
A little tip: If you’re looking for some adorable, cute, pink and pastel blue decorations, head to the baby area of the shop! I’ve found they always have a few, “Baby’s First Christmas”, type ornaments which are absolutely perfect for a pink Christmas! I found these ballet slippers in the baby christmas section at The Range!
How have you decided to decorate this season?
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas! x
